E-Mail Me!

My Stuff

I recently upgraded to a

Blackberry 8700g.

Email, cellphone, web

access, and PDA all-in-one.

I love Canon digicams.

I had an S330, then an S230,

now an SD400.  They're solidly

made, they take great pictures,

and they're ultra-portable.

I've gone back to the dark

side.  I once again have an iPod.

This time it's a 60gb iPod Photo.

The Dell Latitude D620

is my current work laptop.

It's a cleanly designed

Centrino Duo machine with

amazing battery

life and a nice screen.

My home laptop is a

15" Apple MacBook Pro

dual-booting both Mac OS X

and Windows XP.  Hooray for

Boot Camp!

I recently upgraded to a 20"

Dell 2001fp LCD.  It has great

image quality, and convenient

USB ports on the side.

My current PC is

a P4 system based on an Intel

D915GAG motherboard in an Antec

Sonata II case.  200gb Seagate

SATA hard drive, nVidia GeForce

6600GT video card, SB Live 5.1,

and NEC DVD-RW drive.

Just like with digicams,

I like Canon inkjet printers. My

i860 is quiet, fast, and produces

first-class color prints.

Not much to say here.

If you're an aviation enthusiast

and you have a fast PC,

go buy FS2004 now.

If you get hooked on

flight sims like I did, you'll want

a good flight controller.  The

CH Products Flight Sim Yoke USB

is probably the best all-around

flight controller out there.

It ain't cheap, though....

When discussing an upcoming trip, and whether to fly coach or business:

man, let's save the miles
i'll kick a frenchman in the back for 8 hours to save some miles
"pardonnez-moi, monsieur.... je suis tres grand...."

I spent the majority of the day hanging pictures around the house. I'm intentionally skipping the "main" rooms, because I'm going to order some big photo frames and print some 13x19 photos to display in them.

I'm also shopping online for a new laptop bag, since my Dell backpack isn't working for me. I've narrowed it down to a few bags from Case Logic, Tumi, ful, and Ogio. Fun.

Okay, here's something else I really like. Neatly packaged sandwiches, such as those sold at Pret a Manger. This picture shows a branch of Pret that is pretty picked over, but I enjoy seeing rows and rows of different interesting sandwiches. If they had Pret a Manger here in the PacNW, I'd buy food there all the time.

Test... test... Is this thing on?

I haven't updated this blog in a while, what with the turmoil of changing jobs, buying a new house, and what have you. Now that we're settled into the new house, and the job is starting to settle down a little, I should find more time to post updates and witty nonsense.

We've been in the house for two weeks as of today, and it seems like we're pretty well settled in. Kristi was gone for one of those two weeks, on a business trip to Taiwan, so I had time to get all of the various electronics set up. I got a kickass Sanus Systems A/V rack for the stereo and video game stuff downstairs, and I've organized all of my home networking stuff in my office upstairs.

One casualty of the move was the hard drive on the Xbox360. For some reason, it's just dead, and the 360 throws up a red light and an E68 error whenever the drive is connected. Unhook it, and things are fine. I just got Forza Motorsport 2, but I can't save progress and scores without a functional drive connected. I'm scouring eBay for a replacement, since retail on that crappy 20gb drive is almost $100.

We haven't hung much stuff on the walls yet, since we're still trying to get a feel for the place. I want to print and frame a bunch of 13x19 prints of pictures I've taken, and I think that will look nice, clean, and modern.

Anyway, we're here. At last.
